What is The Little Mop’s base cleaning service?

Here at The Little Mop, we offer several services, but we focus on regular house cleaning in Guelph, Dundas, Puslinch, and Flamborough. Our pricing system is slightly different from most cleaners (which is partly why we’ve built this free estimate calculator), in that our regular services aren’t usually charged by the hour.

Instead, we charge per room (not per square footage). This builds up a total, and then we apply small discounts for frequency, if applicable.

Then, at this rate, we come and clean your home every week, every two weeks, or every four weeks. We’ll give everything a thorough dusting and wiping down, vacuum and mop all the floors, and conduct a deep surface clean on your bathrooms and kitchens.

Step 1: Open and fill out the form

You’ll find our estimate form linked on our website’s Contact page, or we’re happy to send it directly if you reach out. It’s a simple Google Form that you can fill out on your smartphone or computer (whichever’s easier).

The form walks you through a few short questions about your space, such as:

• How many bedrooms and bathrooms you have
• Whether you have a small or a large kitchen (use your best guess here)
• What other rooms you have
• If you have any dogs or cats
• And how regularly you’re looking for our residential cleaning services

There’s no need to stress too much about exact numbers! This is just about having a starting point so we can give you a rough idea of pricing.

Just a quick note: The estimate won’t include mileage, tax, or any optional base-clean add-ons (like cleaning inside the oven or fridge), and it’s not for hourly services. We keep it simple and focused on regular residential cleaning, our ‘base cleaning’ service.

Step 2: Get your estimate

Once you’ve filled out the form as accurately as possible and submitted it, you’ll receive an automated estimate to the email address you provided. This will contain an estimate based on the information you gave us in the Google Form.

It’s quick and gives you a general idea of what your cleaning service might cost. And it’s a great way to get a feel for things, whether you’re planning ahead or just curious.

Step 3: Book a walkthrough and quote

Because homes are all different (and it’s easy to forget a room or two when you’re thinking about your own space!), we’ll follow up with you to book a walkthrough, where we’ll give you a finalized quote.

We always like to do this in person. It gives us a chance to:

• Confirm all the details
• Answer your questions
• Give you a final quote tailored specifically to your home

It’s a simple step, but it helps make sure there are no surprises and that you’re getting exactly what you need.
